MEN: In relationships with females, do you weigh winning the battle against the risk of losing the war?

Do you ever feel that if you assert yourself in your relationship with a female that you run the risk of her breaking up with you just because you won't acquiesce sufficiently?MEN: In relationships with females, do you weigh winning the battle against the risk of losing the war?
Just avoid relationships with them at all, and life is a breeze!MEN: In relationships with females, do you weigh winning the battle against the risk of losing the war?
a real man can never lose the war. if she will not accept your calm, assertive leadership and instead wants to ';wear the pants';, she loses the war. She will get some lapdog to follow her around, and you will go get a real woman that is not afraid of men, and doesn't have a chip on her shoulder about being submissive to the wishes of a loving, but strong man.
A man asserting himself is increadibly delicious! Don't worry if some break up with you keep being yourself. You'll find someone who loves it soon enough. Don't change there is no greater turn off than a man who does not respect himself.

UHM? Wait what exactly do you do when you 'assert' yourself? Careful not be disrespectful.
I once cared enough to try to do that. Nowaday's not so much. You have to have a personality that drives women to come back to you. Or else you'll go insane from the stupid **** she get's pissed about.
Despite the war of the sexes, I refuse to participate in it.
I haven't liked a girl enough to worry about that.
yes sir.

Men in relationships: what can make you feel like a failure?

Men in relationships: what can make you feel like a failure?

What are things in close relationships that scare you or make you feel like a failure? Or like you've disappointed your partner?Men in relationships: what can make you feel like a failure?
A woman who finds constant fault in your behavior, tastes, and efforts to just be yourself.

One who pouts and is overly sensitive.

A nag who must have things done her way and her way alone.

Men in relationships: what can make you feel like a failure?
I dated him for 5 yrs and he didnt invite me to his high school reunion.

He would rather go out with his adult kids and ex wife than with me.

He doesnt shave, hasnt had his haircut in over 8 months and doesnt spifty up for me anymore. He has become a slob. Early in our relationship, he always was clean shaven, trimmed and looked nice. The diffrence in his appearance is astounding in 6 yrs.

He became so angry at me, he threw a chair, it caught me in the ankle and almost broke it. I had to get a few stitches. He says he didnt mean to do it, and wasnt aiming at me, but it doesnt matter.

When he drinks day after day after day, it makes me feel like a failure. I am ashamed.

There are lots of things for different men. As for me, i had a business, and it fell in this market. I know that its not my fault, but closing it down and now relying on wife for financial help makes e feel like a failure. Even though she's ok with it. Now is just to pick up and walk again, thats hard.
1. my wife not liking or wanting sex anymore

Artists and poets look at the world and see relationships?

and order. But they translate their ideas to canvas, or to marble, or into poetic images. Scientists try to find relationships between different objects and events. To express the order they find, they create hypotheses and theories. Thus the great scientific theories are easily compared to great art and great literature.

list the premises in order and the conclusionArtists and poets look at the world and see relationships?
You just expressed two affirmations, nothing else. Both are true, but both are plain truisms.Artists and poets look at the world and see relationships?
Yeah, that is also what unimaginative scientists do. Artist, philosopher, scientist... are all thinkers. Every great mathematician in ancient history is also a famous philosopher... philosophy is the first science... all because thought was their criteria.
..could you repeat the question please
You are right. However , what is the question here?

  • Are your relationships painful and fragile?

I believe this happens because of how casual and cavilier we have become with sex - looking at porn %26amp; taking multiple partners with low committment. I believe God gave us the gift of sexuality in order for us to bond intimately and closely with one marriage partner for one lifetime %26amp; if we don't follow our creator's instructions for how to use our sexuality, *We're* the ones that end up getting hurt.

What do you think? Are your relationships painful and fragile?
I agree with you. The immoral participants of sex are the victims of their poor decisions, - and the future un-intented consequences are known by Christians.

Too bad the consequences of these poor decisions are passed on to the children of these people. Are your relationships painful and fragile?
I'm sorry, couldn't disagree more, except for one thing. Sex is being trivialized these times, but the same happens with people's privacy, freedom and many other things. I.E., people are losing their moral principles, be them religious (as in your case) or not (as in mine).

Concerning relationships... Well, I think you're generalising a bit too much by stating that kind of thoughts. Relationships can or cannot work for a zillion different reasons. One is the vision of sex, true, but some other relationships don't work because there's a huge argument about something stupid, because one of the two has to move abroad, because they just found out they love each other a lot but can't be together...

Believe it or not, gay couples work pretty much like straight couples. Do all broken straight couples end up breaking because of sex? No. Then why should the gay ones do?
    Morganie,

What is going on in your life? I mean, what the heck prompts these sorts of questions. I think the witch hunts on pornography are over-rated. It's like what the NRA says about guns. Guns don't kill people. People kill people.

I think the reason porn is a problem in the USA is due to our sex phobic Puritanical heritage. In general, Americans look upon sex as something dirty and the media and advertisers exploit that.In some European cultures, such as Sweden and Germany and France, their attitude on sex is much more liberal. They do not find porn offensive- it is boring compared to their own sex lives. Good for them.

I also think that if prostitution were legal nationwide in the US there would be fewer rapes and AIDs and STDs would be less of a problem.
i agree with you. i've only had one serious relationship that lasted 6 years. i'm gay, and this was my first lesbian relationship. anyway, it was really special and great, but because it was so special and so great, it was REALLY hard when we broke up. now, i find it hard to commit to someone else. not that i'm not capable of it, but you know, it's just really hard.
I've been blessed and have a happy, long lasting relationship
I like you're perspective. I never thought of that, yet it seems to make sense.

How come the more good looking women have many relationships but the ';regular'; looking women don't?

As in, why do those really good looking women go through relationships and relationships and take forever to get married, when the ';regular';/';ok'; looking women go through maybe one or two relationships and get married earlier? How come the more good looking women have many relationships but the ';regular'; looking women don't?
Because the pretty girls always get asked out on dates and always has guys competing for them so they move on pretty quickly to the other guy who may seem better. Average looking girls like me only get a few so we are able to stay and actually feel out a guy before we know if he's the right one for us or not. We don't have that many to chose from so it's not really that difficult. It's like when you go to a candy store. If there's too wide a variety it's much more difficult to chose, you may end up getting about 10 different candies. But if you go to a store with only a few candies you'll just get one. It's the same concept. I've only had three relationships and then I got married because I'm one of those average looking girls. I know many girls in my school who had many relationships and some are still not married.

Another reason too is that some guys only want that pretty girl for one reason only, sex. When they get it it's good bye to you. They don't want to carry that type of girl home to meet the parents. The average ones most often tend to be decent dressers etc and they are the type to carry home to your parents and you won't have to worry about them around your friends either. How come the more good looking women have many relationships but the ';regular'; looking women don't?
I think that some girls start having ';relationships'; earlier in life. I can remember girls at school who were ';in love'; at fifteen, and other girls who didn't have their first ';love'; until they were in their twenties.

I don't know about any correlation with looks to be honest, but their are certain kinds of girls who start having relationships much younger. I didn't have a serious boyfriend until I was eighteen, that was because I didn't see the point in going out with any of the boys who asked me earlier - since I didn't REALLY like them. The man I am with at the minute is the first person I've really been in love with and I hope this is the one that will last.

I think it's strange to have a lot of relationships and claim they were all serious - I have a friend who says she has been in love eight times. I don't believe that's true. I think love is much rarer and more special than that. You can't fall in love repeatedly with so many men in a short space of time.

Maybe the girls you speak of take love and relationships less seriously than some other girls.
Really good looking people have the option of going through many relationships and still have the ability to get married. Such people, as well as rich, famous, and powerful people, are more sought after than your Plain Jane or Johnnie Regular. They can pick and choose, sometimes at random, when deciding to hunker down with a partner.

So such people, male or female, can pick whoever THEY want, not someone other people decide who they should marry.

That's life. Get used to it.
Some people date for the wrong reasons. A beautiful girl doesn't want to be with a guy she deems ugly if she can be with someone who she sees as hot. I went to high school with a girl who was very plain. That's the way she liked it. She is married and has 2 kids. He husband is average. They are together because of personality first, attraction after. Those relationships last. Dating someone for looks and hoping your personality adds up doesn't last.
Because around the early twenties and younger, people have a shallow mindset which results in people dating based solely on physical appearance. With that said, people often over look the average men and women for the physically hott people. Therefore, the more physically attractive people get more experience in the dating world.
The more attractive women get more men going after them, but also a higher proportion of those relationships are based on mere physical attraction, leading to later dissatisfaction. Average looking people (not just women) have to make more effort to start a relationship based on personality compatibility.
I've noticed this, no idea. Perhaps because less men are willing to ask the really good-looking women out. Reasons could be intimidation, fear of rejection, (often by woman's beauty). This could also be why you see ';average'; looking guys with ';pretty'; girls.
We get it right the first or second time and don't have to flit constantly from boyfriend to boyfriend desperately seeking validation.

It's not about quantity, it's about quality.
because they are perhaps less self conscious

most woman who are super model looking are think that because of thier looks no man is good enough for them they are picky and never really happy.
More attractive women are possibly bewildered by the sheer choice available to them.
Because they are shallow and only want to be seen with the great guys. They don't know true love and may never find it.
I'm curious about where your ';data'; came from...

Why are relationships always so difficult?

Whether it be a romantic relationship, a friendship, or just a relationship with a family member. They all seem so difficult.

What's the deal? Is it just me, or are they hard for everyone? Why are relationships always so difficult?
No, it's not just you. It is really hard to bond with people for some unfortunate reason. I think it's because people are not willing to be their true selves and seem to find it easier to be deceitful in one way or another. Why? I don't know. Some people are just seeking to ';use'; others to get what they want, whether it be in the form of material items, affection, or just to stroke their egos. These are the ';takers';. They make it hard for the rest of us. But you should know that there are good, true, honest people out there. Even if you only come across one of these people in your lifetime, you should consider yourself lucky. Some people will never know of the joy that a true friendship/relationship can bring. Why are relationships always so difficult?
All relationships are difficult because we are not a perfect being who could weave a perfect good relationships. We make mistakes and sometimes some of us have hard time making sorry to one another because of pride, anger, jealousy, and other hindrances, which when not patched up it causes misunderstandings.

Eliminate such imperfect characters like doubt,jealousy,envy,anger,bitterness,sha鈥?mindedness,etc..then you will have a perfect good relationship. For these are the ones who ruin us and ruin our relationships.
