Is there anybody that thinks that long distance relationships DO work?

im just curious because ive heard that lots of people dont believe they do work....Is there anybody that thinks that long distance relationships DO work?
They can if you want to put the time and effort into it. My fiancee and I are over 9000 miles apart. We keep our relationship going with email, chat, web cam, pictures/videos, phone and snail mail in between seeing each other. Is there anybody that thinks that long distance relationships DO work?
Depends. Usually for a couple who have been together for a long time and have a strong bond will work. If you just met some one on the internet and are now dating, then no :| You dont WANT to have long distance relationships. Sometimes it happens because of circumstances related to school and work and only strong couples can maintain themselves in this.
It takes a special kind of person to do it. However, if you are willing to put in the time, and trust your partner absolutely completely, they can work. I have known more than one person that has married their significant other while having only really been in a long distance relationship with them.
I believe they can work. There are thousands of girls in America, waiting for their boyfriends and husbands who are in Iraq! I'm still in high school, my boyfriend goes to a boarding school. But we've been together for a little over a year and things are still good! It just depends on if you are willing to put in the extra effort, and can handle being monogamous with someone you don't see often.
Pish-posh! Of course they work! I have been with a man from the UK for 3 years now and out of all that time we have been actually together 6 months....3 months each time! He can only be in the US for 3 months at a time due to travel restrictions. We talk on the phone daily and on MSN. We are now planning on getting married and moving to the UK when he comes at Christmas.

Read this story I have written about our wonderful long distance relationship here and read the comment he left at the bottom:

I'm Okay. You're Okay.

yes, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I know of a guy thats been dating a girl for 3 years and they live in different counties here in SC. So basically, their relationship is through the phone..........and now one of my friends is dating someone who goes to school in montana.
sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt. it depends on how close the ';distance'; is. because you might want to see them sometimes for comfort and its hard because yuo would think about them a lot and get distracted and the relationship will fail
You have to put double the effort into it and you both have to be mature and have good communication.
I have been in a 3000 mile one for a year now. They work if you put effort into them and you are committed to making them work.
Um mine didn't but it doesn't mean it can't happen. I mean I still really love him.
well it depends if that person and you are patient and trust but without that then no it wont
yes definately true love always work ;-)
yes and there's only one word that can make it work....TRUST!
